Description of the program

In order to meet the growing demand for Chinese language teaching talent in the international community, promote the development of Chinese language education around the world, and help the growth of international Chinese language teaching talent, the Center for Language Training and Cooperation established the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship to focus on training qualified foreign teachers.

Confucius Institutes, Confucius classrooms, some Chinese centers, relevant overseas educational institutions, Chinese professional teachers/Chinese schools and departments in universities, relevant overseas organizations of the Chinese teaching industry, Chinese embassies (consulates), and etc. can recommend outstanding students for admission to Chinese universities to study Chinese as a foreign language and related subjects.

Who can get a scholarship

Basic conditions for applicants:

Introductory subheading For today's world, synthetic testing gives us no choice but to identify both self-contained and externally dependent conceptual solutions.

  1. Non-Chinese citizens;
  2. Good physical and mental health, high moral qualities, erudition;
  3. Age from 16 to 35 years (unified from September 1, 2021). Chinese teachers working in the workplace are under 45 years of age, and undergraduate scholarship applicants are generally under 25 years of age;
  4. The age of applicants is from 16 to 35 years (as of 09/01/2020). For teachers of Chinese - up to 45 years old, the age of scholarship applicants for undergraduate programs should not exceed 25 years old.

A master's degree is required, with a master's degree in Chinese as a Foreign Language, Linguistics, Chinese International Education, or education-related majors. 200 points in the HSK International Exam (Level 6) and 60 in the HSKK International Oral Exam (Advanced). More than 2 years of experience in teaching Chinese or related fields. Preference is given to those who provide an employment contract or relevant certificates from the educational institution where they will teach after graduation.

From March 1, 2021, applicants can enter the website (cis.chinese.cn) to apply for China International Teacher Scholarship. Log in to the scholarship website to learn about the recommending institutions (Confucius Institute) and host institutions; submit all required documents online, follow the application progress, audit opinion and scholarship comments. Once you have received a scholarship and the host university has approved your candidacy, you can print out the certificate of receipt of the scholarship, as well as appear at the university according to the time specified by the university on the notice of admission.

Those who won the "2021 International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Certificate" in "Chinese Bridge" type competitions must register on the scholarship website and submit the materials along with the scholarship certificate. If you have any questions, please email us at chinesebridge@chinese.cn.
