The Headquarters of Confucius Institutes/State Office for the Propagation of Chinese Overseas (Hanban for short) is a permanent operating body of the Council for the International Propagation of Chinese Language under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, located in Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China.
Confucius Institutes are non-profit educational organizations dedicated to meeting the need for learning Chinese in all countries of the world, promoting the understanding of Chinese culture around the world, strengthening exchange and cooperation between China and the world in education and culture, and developing China's friendly relations with others. countries, to promote the development of cultural pluralization and the creation of a harmonious world.
The tasks of the Confucius Institutes are: organization of Chinese language courses; conducting qualification examinations (tests) in Chinese (HSK, HSKK, YCT, BCT) and a test for certification of Chinese teachers; provision of educational literature on the Chinese language; consulting on education in China; popularization of the language and culture of China, etc.

The Confucius Institute for Science and Technology of BNTU was established on December 6, 2013. BNTU's partner in the creation of the Confucius Institute is North-Eastern University – one of the leading universities in China. The grand opening of the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology took place on October 21, 2014. Our Confucius Institute, being a kind of bridge between Belarus and China, aims to develop interaction and cooperation between our peoples in the field of culture, education, science and technology.
The Belarusian National Technical University is the leading Belarusian university of engineering and technology profile. BNTU takes the 2nd place in the Webometrics ranking among all Belarusian educational institutions, and the first place in the world professional ranking of universities.
Today, more than 35 thousand students study at the university in 89 specialties. The structure of BNTU includes 17 faculties, 5 institutes, 119 departments, 41 research laboratories, a stadium and 8 sports grounds. The educational process is carried out by the teaching staff, including more than 2,000 people, of which 2 are academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 199 doctors of sciences (professors), 829 candidates of sciences (associate professors).
