• attracting the attention of young translators to practical scientific and technical translation from/into Chinese;
• creation of a platform for contacts and cooperation between young translators and interested potential clients and employers.

• Interpretation from a sheet of two passages of text: from Russian into Chinese and from Chinese into Russian. Dictionaries and other auxiliary tools must not be used during translation! • Oral paragraph-phrase translation (by ear) of two fragments of the text: from Russian into Chinese and from Chinese into Russian. While listening to an audio recording, it is allowed to make notes and notes in a notebook. There is a time limit for translation. (The adequacy, completeness, accuracy and speed of translation, knowledge of grammar and style of the target language are assessed).

• "Translation biathlon": each participant will be offered 10 common scientific and technical terms for translation from Russian into Chinese and from Chinese into Russian. There is a time limit for translation.
• Translation from a phrase sheet (from Russian to Chinese or from Chinese to Russian). Dictionaries and other auxiliary tools must not be used during translation! (The adequacy and accuracy of the translation, the literacy of the presentation of the translated text are assessed).
• Paragraph-phrase translation (by ear) of a text fragment: from Russian into Chinese or from Chinese into Russian. • Consecutive translation of bilateral business negotiations: from Russian into Chinese and from Chinese into Russian. (The adequacy, completeness and accuracy of the translation, mastery of the grammar and style of the target language are assessed; translation behavior).
